Dental coverage is an important part of your Riverside County benefits package and key to your overall health. Riverside County is pleased to offer you a choice of plans, providers, and coverage options. Key features and benefits of the plans are listed on the Dental Plans Comparison Chart. A few things you should consider when choosing your dental plan; |
 |
- Local Advantage Plus – The Local Advantage Plus plan gives you the flexibility to choose any Local Advantage network provider each time you seek dental care. To receive benefits, your dental services must be obtained through a network dental provider unless the plan has authorized services elsewhere. This plan uses a combination of dental networks to provide services. You may select a provider from the Riverside Dental Group, the Hospitality Dental Group or the First Dental Health network. To obtain a complete list of participating dentists and dental offices, download a directory, or contact your Department Representative. Your dental office will coordinate all of your dental services.
Note: This plan is a self-funded plan, provided ONLY for the benefit of Riverside County employees and their families.
- United Concordia Preferred – The United Concordia Preferred Dental PPO Plan works like a medical 'PPO-style' plan. This dental plan allows you to choose care from in-network or out-of-network providers. When you receive care from in-network providers, the plan pays higher benefits and your out-of-pocket costs are lower.
In-Network —The plan pays benefits based on fees that have been agreed to by the plan and its participating dentists. Plan benefits will be based on the type of services that you receive. To locate a participating dental office visit their web site, call the plan's Member Services, or contact your Department Representative.
Out-Of-Network —When you receive care from an out-of network dentist, the plan pays benefits based on the type of services that you receive to a maximum of reasonable and customary (R&C) rates for the area. Since the plan and out-of-network dentists have not agreed upon fees, the dentist may charge more than R&C and your out-of pocket costs could be higher.
