The Cost of Coverage

When you enroll in a County-sponsored medical plan, either when you retire or during a subsequent Annual Enrollment, the County will make a contribution toward your medical plan premiums. The amount of the contribution is based on the bargaining unit you were in at the time of your retirement.  The contributions are as follows:

 

 

This contribution will be applied to reduce your monthly premium obligation as long as you remain enrolled in a County medical plan.  The full plan premiums are identified in the charts below.  You’ll pay the amount remaining after applying the County Contribution for the plan and coverage level that you select.  Your benefit costs will be deducted monthly, whenever possible, from your CalPERS pension warrant.
