Vision Benefits

EyeMed

Members of the SEIU, LIUNA and RSA Public Safety bargaining units may choose between two vision plan options offered through the EyeMed vision plan. Use the vision plans comparison chart  to compare eligible benefits and copayments requirements.

EyeMed Vision Plan 1 – covers both Eye Exam and Eyewear; or

EyeMed Vision Plan 2 – covers only Eyewear.  Choose this plan if your medical plan covers your exam and you only want coverage for hardware.

Both plans have no deductible and include discounts for contact lenses.  Both plans allow you to choose care from in-network or out-of-network providers.  When you receive care from in-network providers, the plan pays the provider directly, and your out-of-pocket costs are lower.

Vision Services Plan (VSP)

The County provides an employer paid vision benefit through VSP vision to employees in eligible groups (Elected Officials, Management, Confidential, Unrepresented, DDAA, LEMU and Resident Physicians) and their eligible dependents.  Enrollment for employee is automatic, but you must elect coverage for your eligible dependents to include them.  Coverage begins on your date of hire and ends on your last day of employment with the County.  The plan provides benefits and discounts for most vision care expenses you incur while covered by the plan, subject to the maximum amounts show in the table below.  VSP Evidence of Coverage.
